Brett Eldredge’s first ever UK tour was one of great success. At his final performance at The O2 Ritz in Manchester, he brought both passion and stellar vocals creating one satisfying experience.
Brett may be a stranger to our shores, but this seemed like a walk in the park for this Country Star. He didn’t fail to entertain on any level which was made paramount by the numerous screams when the opening of ‘Fire’ kicked in. The screams did die down but rather than being extinguished the fire’s spark caused an inferno of singing along fans. This didn’t turn to ash until the final note was played.
Mr Eldredge knows how to get the fans involved by employing numerous tactics to create something truly enjoyable. Whether it be his stage presence as he acts along to various lyrics, or his use of words to mention how certain songs came to be. His passion for music showed as he felt right at home even if he is thousands of miles away from Nashville.
There wasn’t a moment where his vocals failed to impress. From ‘Beat Of The Music’ to ‘Shadow’ his vocal prowess shone through, especially when he held notes that left a tingle down your spine. They were powerful and spoken right from the heart as made evident in ‘Mean To Me.’
The set of the evening comprised of both new and old hits from ‘Illinois’ and ‘Bring You Back.’ The set list contained a variety that showed both ends of the emotional spectrum. ‘One Mississippi’ brought the touching connection of love and ‘Wanna Be That Song’ caused hope to echo deep within.
Brett wasn’t the only enthusiastic presence on the night. His band backed him up in both the humour and the involvement with the audience. There were plenty of moments where you couldn’t help but draw a smile as his band were having a blast on stage, but so were you in the crowd. It was fun and entertaining at the same time. His positive connection with his fellow band mates came to highlight how talented this bunch really are, as their deliverance to the end ticket holder was pleasantly refreshing.
Brett Eldredge didn’t disappoint. Just as he started on a stellar, he ended in sheer dominance. He made the evening his. The crowd were with him from the first cord strung to the final key hit as his showmanship reached heights that many can only aspire to. His delivery didn’t fail to keep the audience hooked, and I’m sure they’ll welcome Brett back with open arms as that was one exceptional evening.
