SaraBeth grew up in Dallas Texas where she was surrounded by the world of Country:”Country especially in Texas is just a way of life. It’s written about real things.” She remembers a Patsy Cline & Alan Jackson cassette tape fondly:”I remember a Patsy Cline & an Alan Jackson cassette tape. And when I’d go to my great grandma’s house, I’d wear them out in the tape player. So finally, my great-grandma was like take them with you…” Which then led her to take inspiration from Shania Twain, The Dixie Chicks & Faith Hill.
When it comes to the creation process and the ideas behind her music, SaraBeth takes a diverse and varied approach, as there’s no set way of coming up with a song idea. With her current single “I’m Sick Of It” which was written by Sara Beth, Glen Mitchell & Glen Sebastian the guitar lick you hear became the very inspiration behind the song: “…When we were writing that. The guitar part /the guitar lick that plays throughout the song was kind of the inspiration because it sounded angry…”
A media platform that Sara has used to help promote her music is Stageit. It has allowed her to engage fans all over the world without them having to leave their couch, whether it be with new music or fans wanting that behind the scenes exclusive:”Everyone seems to have really great feedback, everyone likes to be involved” It isn’t just for her own promotion in which she has taken to use Stageit. SaraBeth has also used the service admirably to raise money for City Of Hope which means a lot her on a personal level.:”They raise money for so many different illnesses that affect all of us” “They’re always looking for cures, they’re doing research you know, around the clock so that hopefully we can all find a cure. One day for numerous illnesses, that like I said affect all of us.”
For SaraBeth breaking into the UK Country scene has been kind of peculiar, as well as exciting at the same time.:”For me coming from the US, you kind of just go where your fans are, and I noticed that I had quite the fan base from the UK” “It’s been a really warm reception.”
Sara and Glen Mitchell’s tour reaches our shores in the coming months. But for SaraBeth & Glen they wanted to do something different, but special to give a British Country act the chance to open up for them at The Borderline in August:”It’s really hard to pick support acts. There’re so many talented British acts and for us something that was really important coming over was that we let people in the UK open for us. “But we decided for The Borderline we were going to have a contest, and so you can actually go to my Facebook Page, which is Facebook.com/SaraBethTX, and there’s a UK contest tab and you just click on that and you just vote for your favorite video.”
Meanwhile, before her tour reaches the UK she has an exciting next few months ahead, where she’ll be playing seven different stages at this year’s CMA Fest. She’ll also be taking part in a Softball game with the likes of Dena Carter and Vince Gill raising money for City Of Hope:”…Everybody’s kind of out of their element, unless they played sports really competitively growing up. “… So It’s not people singing on stage, you’re just getting so see what they’re like hanging out playing Softball.”
SaraBeth is just one of the many Country talents out there just waiting for you to discover. It isn’t just the music that an artist should be known for it’s for the person they are and the incredible stories and journeys behind the music. I wish SaraBeth all the best with her coming tour, and if you are planning on seeing her, then you’re in for a real treat.
